Anti-Glare Solutions
Your Starting Point
The glare effect caused by solar panels is a common obstacle in the implementation of photovoltaic systems. Especially on house roofs, glare issues are usually only discovered after the solar system has already been installed.
Our solution
The anti-glare film from Phytonics is an effective solution that can be applied to both new solar modules and existing systems. By applying the film, solar modules become low-glare and therefore no longer cause disturbance.
Are you planning a commercial PV system?
Does your glare report indicate significant impairments for residents or road users?
Our anti-glare film provides an effective solution to reduce disturbing reflections, thus enabling approval even at airports, roads, and in densely populated neighborhoods.
Why do solar modules cause glare?
Whether solar modules cause glare is perceived differently by people. However, to objectively assess the glare effect, a threshold value has been established: surfaces with higher reflected luminance are considered "glare-inducing".
Standard anti-reflective glasses significantly exceed this value. Modules with the Phytonics anti-glare film remain below it – and are therefore considered low-glare, as confirmed by studies from Prof. Bucher (Bern University of Applied Sciences).

Minimal impact on yield
The Phytonics anti-glare film reduces the solar module output power at perpendicular light incidence to about 97% to 95% of the original power. The exact value depends on the respective module type.
Easy to retrofit – but how?
For an optimal installation result, we recommend involving a sign technician or film applicator for the application of the anti-glare film. We are happy to connect you with one of our partners in your region for this purpose.
How durable is the film?
The PMMA base film from Orafol is extremely UV stable and is additionally protected against weathering by our microstructured coating. External aging tests confirm outstanding durability.
Installation of the anti-glare film
Alternatively, you can apply the film yourself. The foiling can be done by hand and is best carried out by two people – watch the installation instructions on YouTube!
