The problem
Glare effect from solar modules
The glare caused by solar modules is a frequent obstacle to the realisation of PV systems. Particularly on house roofs, glare problems are usually only identified once the solar installation has already been realised. However, with the increasing spread of PV systems, it is to be expected that glare problems will occur more and more frequently. In densely populated neighbourhoods, next to roads and at airports, glare-free solar modules enable the sustainable and successful implementation of PV projects.

Background
When do solar modules start to cause glare?
The level of irradiated luminance from which a surface is perceived as causing glare generally depends on individual perception. Nevertheless, it is important to define uniform limit values for when a surface is considered “low glare”. The expert Prof. Christof Bucher made a proposal on this at the Solar Update 2024 in Bern (Switzerland).
According to his proposal, solar modules with our coatings are considered low-glare!

The solution
The XRF anti-glare film
Introducing the XRF Anti-Blend Film, Phytonics is now launching an extremely low-glare surface for solar modules. The adhesive film can be easily applied to the glass surface of the solar module.
Solar modules equipped with the XRF Anti-Glare Film offer optimal protection against glare – even under the most unfavorable conditions! Even at extremely low angles of incidence of up to 70°, the reflected luminance remains well below a value of 75,000 cd/m². This makes the XRF Anti-Glare Film far superior to other glare-reducing products.
XRF Anti-Glare Film consists of an extremely UV- and weather-resistant adhesive film with a micro-textured and scratch-resistant surface coating. This robust construction guarantees long-term durability and optimal performance even under the harshest conditions.
